On Sunday evening I finally made it back to my flat after Rocking the Daisies. It was an epic weekend, filled with great local music and some awesome international acts, a bit of comedy, surviving the freezing cold wind, sleeping without a mattress, running around in the mud (we were very happy with our Hunters boots – thanks to A Fashion Friend), friends and of course, no showering.
There are showering options, I mean, if you’re THAT into being super clean all the time you can stand in the queue for hours just to have a shower. You will be covered in dust and dirt again very soon afterwards, but that’s your choice. I personally choose not to shower, I embrace the weekend of being not-so-clean, and it’s pretty fun.
This is my guide to surviving three days without showering, and these are the products I use:
- Batiste Dry Shampoo
- Pure Romance Refreshing Body Splash
- Deodorant (obviously)
- Body lotion
- Hand Sanitiser
Ok so lets start with the first one, Batiste Dry Shampoo. If you’ve ever read Smudged before I’m pretty sure you’ve seen me preach about this product. It’s amazing. Keeps hair looking fresh and clean (I’m now singing that Outkast song, out loud, in the office). In my opinion, its the festival MUST-HAVE.
The Body Splash is a bit of an interesting one. I got it (and other Pure Romance products) as a present from my ex-boyfriend’s stepmother. I’d never heard of the range before (EVER). This body splash is definitely refreshing and, wait for this, it claims to have pheromones in it. Yes, you read that right. This will bring all the boys to your yard faster than any milkshake can (apparently).
Deodorant. I’m not even going to go into this one. It’s pretty obvious.
Body Lotion is essential because the dust, dirt and sun dries out your skin very quickly. Take a little sample bottle of body lotion with you to keep looking moisturised and clean. It also smells great, added bonus!
Hand sanitiser is another must-have. Dirty hands are just gross. You can not shower for three days but you better wash your hands! With this product you can ensure that your hands are clean all festival long without any water – this is great because the portaloos did not have water for hand washing at Rocking the Daisies.
Would love to hear from you about how you kept clean at Rocking the Daisies this year, leave a comment or tweet us @smudgedbeauty.
Love, warm alcohol in juice bottles and being dirty at festivals,
