MCQP & Madame Zingara Black Hole Smokey Eye Tutorial

Happy Monday dear readers! We’ve recently teamed up with Madame Zingara (that awesome acrobatic cabaret show) to bring you a series of tutorials throughout the week that are going to show you how to get ready for the upcoming MCQP (Mother City Queer Project) party. So by using some of the goodies Madame Zingara has sent us in conjunction with the awesome 2013 theme that is Space Cowboys we’ve come up with some awesome looks. And here’s the first look: the black hole smoky eye.

What you’ll need:

Step 1

To begin with, apply your base make-up (foundation/concealer/contour) then start by using the light and dark grey eye shadows from the make-up box eye palettes and blend these two colours all over the lid and crease area. Be careful not to create any panda eyes!

Step 2

Take the dark grey shadow and blend under the lower eyelid and the surrounding area. Now take the black shadow and apply on the lid area only. Using a black khol liner (we used MAC smolder) line the waterline and the upper lid and blend out.

Step 3

Using any black liquid eyeliner (we used an Essence one) go over the upper lid previously lined in khol. That way you have a clear line to follow and won’t mess up as easily. Now apply any glitter pigment from the Madame Zingara make-up box set in the inner corner of the eye and blend in the surrounding area. We used the beautiful greeny/teal colour to enhance Jess’s natural eye colour.

Step 4

As a final extra step, you can take this look to an extra(terrestrial) level by lining your brows in an additional glittery shade. We used the silver glitter from the same palette.

Hope this tutorial is starting to get you in the partying mood for this year’s MCQP. Stay tuned for more tutorials coming within the week!

Love love,

Beth
