Look at that it’s Wednesday again! How the heck did that happen?
Today Mich and I are going to chat about two Kiehl’s products we’ve been testing. We’re huge Kiehl’s fans and are doing a giveaway with them here, so go check it out!
Kiehl’s Skin Rescuer (tested by Jodi)
For the last couple months I’ve been on a hunt for a good moisturizer. Because I didn’t know where to go in terms of moisturizers now that my skin was no longer like a dry crusty piece of leather, I stuck to Baobab Oil from my local health food shop and called it a day. This was great and it also made me stick to daily suncream so that I didn’t fry my freckly face. I recently got a sample of the Skin Rescuer from Kiehls and within two days I noticed my skin looking better somehow.
This is a hybrid serum/moisturizer that leaves my skin supple and well hydrated but remains light and non-greasy. It is great for those with redness too as it contains camomile to calm and soothe as well as making my over-tired and dull skin look a lot brighter and more plump. . Since my skin is now on the normal to combination oily/dry it’s very easy to layer under a richer moisturizer but I find it’s great for evening everything out. I tend to get a couple hormonal or stress spots once a month but so far haven’t had any painful nasties popping by for a spot of tea and to annoy me shitless.
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye (tested by Mich)
I’m going to start off by saying that a 24 year old is probably not the best tester for eye cream. I don’t have lines yet (Future Me can deal with that!) and I also don’t struggle with dark circles. However I’m always keen for preventative measures and I love the Midnight Recovery Concentrate, so I was excited to try this. The texture is creamy but sinks into the skin almost immediately. I find it makes my under-eye skin feel silky smooth and hydrated, almost as if I’ve used a primer. Midnight Recovery Eye contains Evening Primrose and Lavender, two ingredients that I’ve used in the past to soothe irritated skin. It also contains no fragrance (very important for me!), no mineral oil and no parabens. It doesn’t irritate my eyes at all, which is impressive considering my fussy skin. I only needed a tiny bit to cover both eyes, meaning this product is going to last ages. I think this is going to be more of a winner for those looking to correct fine lines, rather than those with dark circles.
Have any of you used Kiehl’s? Which products would you recommend?
