Christmas Cocktail Party Look

Hello lovelies

Hope you’re all getting into the festive spirit! For me that involves two staples: food and glitter. Lots of glitter. So I was excited to come up with a Christmas make-up look that involved some sparkle. I’m obsessed with rose gold so that needed to make an appearance too.

Here are the products that I used for my eyes…

Products1

Stila Written in the Stars eyeshadow palette, MAC Paint in Untitled, Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Pink Gold, Stila eyeshadow in Kitten, NYX Ultra Pearl Mania in Mink, false eyelashes, Stila Smudge Sticks in Stingray and Angelfish, MAC Waterproof Brow Set in Red Chestnut, MAC Eyeshadow in Folie, MAC Rihanna Smoked Cocoa Palette and Woolworths Dipliner in Black.

Step 1:
I started off with the brows and eyes, leaving my face bare so that I could clean up any fallout later without messing up my foundation.
I filled my brows in with MAC Folie using an angled eyeliner brush, and then swept my magical MAC Waterproof Brow Set through. I then covered my eyelids with MAC Paint in Untitled (a great eye primer/base shade for pale girls) and the lightest shade in the Stila Written in the Stars palette. I then used a peachy shade from the same palette in the crease.
Next I used an angled eyeliner brush to trace out a sideways V shape using the black eyeshadow in my MAC Rihanna palette.

Step-1

Step 2:
Using the eyeshadow line as a guide, I added the sparkly black shadow from the Rihanna palette to the eye crease and blended upwards. Try to keep the centre of your eye free of black so that we get that nice halo effect. If you’re struggling to blend, add a neutral colour to the top of your dark shadow and blend the two together.
Step-2

Step 3:
Using my Woolworths Dipliner I drew a cat eye on the top of my lashline extending to the end of my black eyeshadow.
Next came some under-eye action. I lined my lower lashline (not the waterline since I don’t like to close up my eyes too much) with the Stila eyeliner in Stingray and then extended it with the Woolworths dipliner into a little flick. Once that had dried I blended a little bit of black MAC shadow under the eyes to make the whole look more smudgey.

Step-3

Step 4:
Now the fun bit. Using an eyeshadow brush I applied the Maybelline Colour Tattoo to the middle of my eye and topped it with the beautiful NYX Pearl pigment. Since the Colour Tattoo is a cream shadow the pigment stuck without much fallout. I then applied the same mixture to the space in my outer corner between the two black cat eye lines. I finished off my eyes with Stila Kitten in the inner corner, Stila Angelfish liner in my waterline and a big pair of falsies.

Step-4
Step 5:
Next I got started on the lips and skin, which I kept pretty simple to keep the focus on my eyes. Here are the products I used:

Products2Stila Illuminating Foundation in 10 watts, MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light, MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade, The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder in Light Matte, MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NC15, Inglot Freedom System Fusion Blush and Illuminator in 204, MAC Lip Pencil in Spice and Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Dolce.

So I started off by buffing in the Stila Illuminating Foundation and concealing any spots or redness with the MAC Pro Longwear concealer. I then set it with the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural. I then contoured using my The Body Shop Bronzing Powder, MAC Mineralize Skinfish and Inglot Fusion Blush. Follow Beth’s tutorial here for a step-by-step if you’re unsure. I finished the look off with the Stila Stay All Day lipstick lined with MAC Spice (a very Kylie Jenner combo).

Here’s the finished look…
