It’s a day where lovers’ love and drunk dialing ex’s is all around us. We are particularly fond of all the chocolate. Since this year Valentines lands on a Saturday, we’ve got you covered no matter where your evening takes you.
This weekend, for Valentine’s Day, Ben and I have gone away with a few of our friends for the weekend, no romantic dinner plans in sight haha. I decided to keep my make-up look pretty natural and then have the red lips to spice it up a bit. I used my Sorbet BB cream (as always) and then my Essence brow kit to really accentuate the brows (I’m really into them at the moment). I used my favourite new Maybelline mascara Volume Express Falsies for the lashes, The Body Shop Honey Bronze to add some contouring and the MAC Red lipstick (what a classic) for my lips!
Sadly, this year my gentle-dude and I are on different continents which means we get to have a Skype date. He’s used to seeing me looking fairly gross just before bed with my laptop resting on my chest at a particularly unflattering angle. For this look, I thought I’d go for something fresh and pretty- a far cry from my usual dark lip and winged liner. Spend a little more effort on your foundation taking time to buff in a thin layer, I used Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation in 4.0 Natural. Next I followed with my concealer in spots that really needed it such as the redness around my nose, under eyes and any spots or scaring lurking around my face. I then moved onto my brows and filled them in with my MAC Fluidline Brow Gelcreme in Deep Dark Brunette removing most of the product from my brush and working the product through with a spoolie. On the eyes, I used a very soft hand and swept Wet ‘n Wild Eyeshadow in Noisette all over the lid and a white, matte shadow from my NYX palette in the inner corner and on the brow bone. Then I lined my waterline with Chanel Intense Eye Pencil in 69 Clair to help open my eyes for a wide eye effect. Avoiding the temptation of applying tons of mascara, I curled my lashes and then used waterproof mascara with the wand mostly cleaned off. The main kicker of this look is to use a soft peachy pink lipstick as blush. I used Dior Lipcolour in Coral Lace and blended it to my cheeks. On the lip I used Raspberry Lip Pencil by Clinique and patted it in all over the lip with a bit of the Dior lipstick pressed in on top for added moisture.
