I’ve written quite a few posts about caring for your blonde hair, especially if it’s fake*.
*I mean you’re not a natural blonde, you’ve had some highlights/peroxide/blonding products in your life.
I have been a fake blonde for about four years now, and it’s definitely been a journey for me. I’ve learnt what my hair likes, dislikes, how to keep the brassy tones out and keeping my hair looking happy, shiny and moisturised.
A little while ago (ok a good couple of months ago, I’ve been busy) rubybox sent out the new John Frieda Sheer Blonde shampoo and conditioner for me to try out. I added them to my shower (along with a couple of other products that I’ve been trying to remember to try out).
I’ve used the shampoo and conditioner a couple of times now, and here are my thoughts:
Shampoo: I was more impressed with this guy. I felt like there was a slight difference when I washed my hair using it, nothing major of course (we are talking store bought products here) but a difference non-the-less. I also really liked the way it made my hair feel. I will definitely finish this bottle and re-purchase.
Conditioner: This one I wasn’t as impressed with. I found it wasn’t hydrating enough for my hair, so I ended up mixing it with a hair mask I had in the shower. The scent is great, and I’m sure it adds to the impact of the shampoo, but it just didn’t give my hair the love that it needs from a conditioner.
These babies are available at Clicks for R119 each. Check out what others had to say about them on rubybox.
